Intensive Community Support

Stability and meaningful connection

The Intensive Community Support (ICS) program provides support for adults with significant and enduring mental illness who are considered to be hard to serve and difficult to engage. Individulas often present with concurrent substance disorder, challenging behaviours, homelessness, legal involvement, and with an inability to self-manage.

Independence and quality of life

Intensive Community Support follows the Housing First principles of immediate access to housing with no readiness conditions, giving the individual choice and self-determination.

ICS staff work alongside a nursing team employed by the Saskatchewan Health Authority, and people in the program receive a high level of professional, in-person, in-house support.

The program aims to help the individual receive their most optimal level of independence and quality of life through a deliberate, evidence-based model of practice.

Using service coordination and individualized case plans, the support participants receive is recovery-oriented and focused on social and community integration.
